“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time” – T.S. Elliot

We’re Pete and Alice McNeil

IMG_0031In September 2012 we got married (…that’s us there)

Not so very unusual in itself, but…

We then embarked on a bicycle tour honeymoon that took us from our home in the U.K., east across the globe towards New Zealand.

How long did this take us? About two years on the road but as we now see life as a sort of ongoing adventure in some ways we’re still going…

Where did we actually end up? Although the real point was just to set off and not to impose too many restrictions on ourselves, after pedalling 20,000kms we did finally make it to New Zealand where we lived and worked for a while. We’re now back in the UK, living in the Peak District and both now embarking on our next adventures…

What was the point? Just to be free… to live simply… to experience all that we can in the world and to do it together (we still endeavour to do this everyday!)

What now? We’re now really excited to use our experience and the lessons we’ve learned from the road to inspire others into their own adventures. We firmly believe that the more people choose to do this, the better the world becomes.

We are now holding presentations, running workshops, giving school talks, guest speaking and getting involved with a number projects to promote cycling and adventure wherever possible. We’re still adventuring on two wheels and will keep adding content to this site. We’re also working on a book.

If you have queries or suggestions on any of this we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us here.
